Frequently Asked Questions
How to Take a Dose
Dosing with Liquid Stock
Prepare the Remedy in Water:
- Open the bottle of your chosen remedy.
- Place 1-2 drops of the stock liquid (extra drops are fine) into a clean bottle (ideally glass, but plastic can work too).
- Fill this bottle with about 500 ml of water (feel free to adjust the amount depending on your preference).
- Seal the bottle and shake vigorously to ensure the remedy is distributed throughout the water.
Taking Your Dose:
- Every sip from this bottle is a dose that your body recognizes.
- For infants or those who can't drink much at once, you can use a syringe or teaspoon to administer small amounts directly into the mouth, just enough to wet the tongue or mouth.
Replenishing the Remedy:
- If you need to take the remedy frequently, prepare a fresh bottle each day. You can also store the remedy in a glass jar for up to a week—just make sure the water remains clear and there are no dark marks or cloudiness. I personally prefer making a fresh bottle daily.
Dosing with Pillules
Taking the Pillules:
- For each dose, take 2 pillules (or as recommended).
- Place the pillules directly under the tongue and allow them to dissolve for the best absorption.
Or Dilute into Water:
- For extended use, dissolve the pillules in water. This method ensures that your kit lasts longer, as each sip from the bottle counts as a subsequent dose.
For Infants or Small Children:
- Dissolve the pillules in a small amount of water, then administer the remedy using a syringe or teaspoon.
Under the Tongue Method
- You can also place a couple of drops of the stock liquid directly under the tongue. While this method is effective, the remedy will be absorbed more slowly compared to the water method, where you can sip frequently. It’s a good option for smaller doses or when you’re on the go.
Breastfeeding, Formula, or Other Liquids:
- It’s best not to add remedies to breast milk, formula, or juice. Instead, prepare the remedy in a separate bottle and administer it directly using a syringe or teaspoon.
- You only need enough liquid to wet the mouth; it doesn’t need to be swallowed entirely.
Frequency of Dosing
For Acute or Intense Conditions (e.g., fever, pain, trauma):
- You may need to dose more frequently, typically every 15 minutes to an hour.
For Moderate Conditions (e.g., colds, digestive upset):
- Dose every 4 hours, or as recommended based on the severity of the symptoms.
As the Condition Improves:
- Gradually reduce the frequency of dosing or stop once you see improvement. If unsure, always consult with a homeopath or refer to your reference booklet.
Choosing the Right Remedy
When selecting a remedy, focus on the specific symptoms being experienced. The remedy you choose should closely match the "symptom picture" of the condition. A small dose of the correct remedy can activate the body's healing mechanisms.
Potency and Strength
The potencies in The Lioness kit are Fibonacci homochords and are designed for acute ailments. These are stronger potencies than what you find in a health food store and should be used under the guidance of a homeopath if they are needed for prolonged periods. Remedies in your kit are stored in a high concentration of alcohol to preserve their potency for at least 2 years.
How Often to Dose
Homeopathy emphasizes frequency, not quantity. For acute conditions, frequent doses (every 15 minutes or hour) are recommended. As symptoms improve, the frequency of doses should be reduced.
- Acute/Intense Conditions: Frequent doses (every 15 minutes to 1 hour).
- Moderate Conditions: Every 4 hours or as advised.
- Improvement: Gradually reduce or stop doses when improvement is clear.
Storing Your Remedies
Proper storage ensures the potency of your remedies. Keep them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and electronic devices like mobile phones and microwaves. This helps preserve their effectiveness.
Safety and Compatibility with Other Medications
Homeopathic remedies are generally safe for all ages, including infants, pregnant women, and the elderly. They typically don’t interfere with conventional medications, but if you have concerns or are taking other medications, it’s always best to consult with a professional homeopath or healthcare provider. Please book a consultation or free discovery call if you have any questions.
Classical vs. Acute Treatment
- First Aid Remedies: Designed for acute conditions like cuts, bruises, fevers, or upset stomach. For serious injuries or emergencies, seek professional medical help immediately.
- Chronic Conditions: For ongoing or chronic ailments, such as eczema, it's recommended to consult a professional homeopath to develop a personalized treatment plan.
We hope this guide helps you understand how to dose homeopathic remedies effectively for both you and your family. Always remember that homeopathy focuses on frequency, not quantity, so adjust your dosing as needed based on the condition being treated. For specific advice, please refer to your reference booklet.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These guidelines are intended for treating simple and acute conditions. In the case of serious accidents or emergencies, always seek immediate medical attention.
